About

I’m the mother of two young ladies and the sorta step-mom to two young children.  I stay at home a lot because that is where I like to be, and luckily my office is there too. You mostly will find me sitting in front of my computer doing all sorts of fun things, or sitting in front of a client prayerfully hoping they will progress way past me in their conflict management skills.

In my previous life, I was married and had a third child. I worked in advertising and crunched a lot of numbers. Today I have more initials after my name, and my work sometimes involves a paintbrush.

Why the name Tawanda Bee? My real name is Deborah, and that means bee in Hebrew. When I learned this, I found it fitting because I am a multi-tasker and often look like a bee flitting around with constant motion. The Tawanda part? That is a long story and includes the movie Fried Green Tomatoes and the experience of a fellow traveler in 12 step recovery. The catalyst was the beginning of this blog.
